Photography

In addition to creating documentary films, I have a passion for photography. Here is a small selection from my photo reportage, commissioned for the performance ‘A Sports Play’ in Berlin.

On January 25, 2026, the actors will perform the piece again, and I will be filming and editing the entire spectacle for submission to theater festivals.

Marzahn

This intimate selection of photographs is part of my ongoing research for what may evolve into a larger project for FilmArche. The images capture fleeting glimpses of Marzahn, a place once envisioned as a utopia for the citizens of the GDR – a meticulously planned dream of modernity and order.

Shot with a simple iPhone SE 2020, this modest reportage explores the tension between past ideals and present realities, revealing the echoes of a bygone vision refracted through contemporary daily life.

“Bones crack, tendons tear, veins burst, ligaments stretch to their limit, yet somehow they still survive. Human bodies during sports: first they are beautiful, and then they are used.”
